The Best RV Gifts for the Campers on Your List

When we got into RVing four years ago, we had no idea what a huge subculture it was. But for the past few years, including the one year that we went on the road full time, we’ve fully embraced becoming part of the RV community. Chances are there are RVers who you know and love in your life. If you’re looking for some great RV gifts, look no further! I’ve got a comprehensive list whether it’s for the full-timer, the weekend warrior, the family campers or any other RVer on your holiday shopping list!

RV in the fall

I decided to break these RV gift items into categories, to make your shopping a little faster. Just FYI, this really is a list of gift items – things like cute décor, fun camping games, awesome accessories, etc. If you’re looking for a list of must-have items to get started RVing or to get organized, check out some of my other posts.

RV Décor Gifts

Everyone likes their rig to have some of the coziness and comfort of home, and one way to get that “homey” feel is through themed décor! The year we spent Christmas in our RV, we found the most fun decorations – and in just the right sizes. Here are some of my recommendations:

String lights: whether indoor or outdoor, these lights add a little festivity to your motorhome. You can find lights in all different designs – I’ve seen Christmas bulbs, mini-trailers, butterflies, etc. But these are nice and neutral for all year long!

Wall signs: I have a few of these in my RV. They’re sturdy, in case your take some bumpy rides! And come in a variety of colors and fun messages. These are just a few of my favorites. I love the camping rules! And the personalized choice is really special :

Sheet set: Obviously you can use any kind of sheets in your RV, but I love thematic décor and a camping themed sheet set would make a unique gift for the RVers in your life!

Outdoor Mats: A good, durable large outdoor mat is a must-have for the RV. It’s a great place to set up your outdoor table and chairs, and prevents you from tracking so much dirt into the rig. I love the stylish designs of these mats:

Fun doormats can be personalized and are easily placed outside or inside the rig to help keep it clean.

Throw blankets and Pillows: Decorative pillows and throws add a cozy touch to your  home-away-from-home, and they also come in handy for the kids on long drives or chilly days:

Kitchen/Cooking RV Gifts

This list is just fun kitchen and cooking gift items. I also have a more comprehensive post on How to Stock your RV Kitchen.

Camping Coffee Mugs: Have I mentioned that I like cute camping-themed accessories? Maybe once or twice. Coffee is a necessity for many RVers, and here are some fun thematic mugs as well as great, insulated mugs for outdoors.

S’mores Set: No camping trip is complete without at least one S’mores night! Give your family and friends this adorable set to make s’moresing easy and fun. (Yes, I just made smores into a verb!)

Camping Dishes: One of the best gifts we got before we set out on our yearlong RV trip was a set of RV-themed dishes! We used them over and over and it made mealtime special.

Aprons: I absolutely love cooking in my RV! I’m also a super messy cook. For those kitchen fanatics in your life who love to camp, a fabulous apron might be just the gift they’re hoping for.

Dish Towels: What I love about these dish towels is they can be part of the regular décor or a functional accessory (or both!)

Entertainment Gift Ideas

Families will appreciate gifts that will help them keep the kids active or have a little outdoor family fun at the campsite!

Cornhole has become so popular! Check out this portable set:

Bocce is a classic that my family has been playing for years!

Badminton travels well and works anywhere:

Little kids will love this play camping set:

Horseshoes is another classic – easy to store and set up:

This outdoor screen and projector takes RVing to another level. Just recently we were camping at the beach and saw a family group of about 15 people watching a movie on one of these, theatre style, in between two rigs. (I immediately made my husband find out where we could get one!)

These Scratch-off Maps and Sticker Maps are the gift that keeps on giving, and are also fun to display!

Outdoor Gear RV Gifts

Camping Chairs that are both comfortable and durable are a fantastic gift – especially if you can spring for a matching pair. The best camping chair I’ve ever used is the rocking chair, although it’s pretty pricey. There are some great mid-range chairs out there, too!

Every camp cook needs a good cooking table. Even while RVing, I do a lot of cooking outside with my grill and my electric skillet. These tables make it so much easier.

I love setting up a good outdoor meal! Making your table neat, comfortable and bug-free are the keys to a great picnic table family dinner. These are some great RV gift ideas that will help:

Picnic table covers

Picnic bench covers

Mesh food covers

If you are heading out for the day and want to bring a picnic with you, a nice picnic backpack can keep everything organized, cold and compact for your outdoor adventures.

RV Apparel Gifts

Is RV apparel necessary? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. And that’s why it makes a great gift!

There are too many funny RV T-shirts to post here, but here are some examples of my favorites:

Everyone needs a good RVing hat because they put the f-u-n in functional! Okay, that was a really pad pun, but these hats are super cute:

Thematic pajamas are a favorite of mine, and if you’re looking for a unique gift for an RVing friend, look no further!

Comfort is key when road tripping, and it doesn’t get much more comfy than these RV leggings:

Part of being comfy is staying warm and these hilarious RV socks are just the ticket!

More and more families are hitting the road or full-timing with little ones. For expecting RVers in your life, these Onesies are just too adorable to pass up!

RV Gift Books

There are literally hundreds of how-to books on RVing, and if you’re buying a book for friends or family with RVs, they most likely already know what they’re doing. But a really great guidebook or RV log can be a thoughtful gift idea. The 50 States book and the Scenic Highways guide were what I used to help plan our yearlong RV trip.

My hope was to write a pretty exhaustive list of gift ideas that RVers will love, based on what I already use or would love to have for my own rig. I know several of my readers are van-life experts, so please feel free to leave more ideas in the comments!

The Coleman Big-N-Tall is the best camping chair for RV I’ve ever bought. When I saw this chair and the price, I had doubts about its quality. But I can happily report that it met or exceeded my expectations at every step. The armrests really help me relax. Plus, the mesh cup holder can really hold anything from mugs to beer bottles. One feature that I like about this camping chair is the durability of the materials used. The steel frame didn’t flex even when I placed a 325-pound object.

It is tough, made from quality materials, water-resistant, and has a media pocket. If you want to feel absolute relaxation during your camping trips, this is definitely the perfect chair for you to sit on.
