About Me

Hey all, I’m glad you found me! I’m a mom, wife, teacher, dog-lover, coffee-drinker, and travel addict. I grew up traveling with parents who had us in the camper or on a plane every chance they could get, and they definitely passed that wanderlust on to me. Luckily my husband shares my passion for travel and together we’re exploring the world, kids in tow! We have a 13 year-old daughter together, and I have two teenage stepdaughters so family travel is a focus of mine!

We just came off of a 10 month trip around the U.S. in our RV – it was magical! We are a regular family, but we dedicate our time and energy (and budget) to traveling. Over the years, I’ve noticed that a lot of people ask us how we can afford to travel so much – they know that I’m a teacher and my husband is an RN – so we are NOT wealthy, just solidly middle-class. Friends and family also ask us often about traveling with our kids, and I’ve realized that many people are intimidated by traveling with children, or think it won’t be enjoyable. I started this blog to encourage people to travel, to pass along some tips and tricks, and to show how family travel can be fun, easy and affordable. I’ve included some tales of our travels and some great itineraries I’ve developed (and used!), reviews of restaurants, hotels and campgrounds, and even some items I can’t live without while on the road.

I hope you find something helpful here and I hope you find the inspiration to pack up the kids and head off on your own adventures!
